James is past president of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the primary professional association of fee-only financial advisors. He also served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, the credentialing body for the CFP® professional designation. He received his undergraduate education in economics at the University of South Carolina and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®).
James and his wife, Cathy, reside in Shandon, South Carolina with their cat, Victor. They have two young adult children, John and Nazley. When he isn’t at work, you might find James riding his Peloton or traveling to wine regions in the U.S. or abroad.
Shawncee joined J.E. Wilson Advisors in 2014 from the banking industry, where she primarily focused on client relations and helping people achieve their ﬁnancial goals. In her current role, her goal is to ensure we provide unparalleled service to our clients.
Shawncee graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in mathematics, and during her banking tenure, she successfully completed South Carolina Banker’s School. She also served on boards, including Township Auditorium Board of Trustees, Township Auditorium Foundation and Treasurer of Columbia Parks and Recreation Foundation, and was the recipient of the 2011 Columbia Parks and Recreation Volunteer of the Year Award. Shawncee is a member of the Junior League of Columbia and the University of South Carolina College of Arts and Sciences Columbia Alumni Council.
In addition to serving in the community, Shawncee enjoys spending time with her family, ﬁtness and cheering on the Gamecocks. She and her husband, Claud, live in Columbia with their daughter.
Sarah joined J.E. Wilson Advisors with over six years of executive-level administrative experience in the non-profit industry. Sarah also has experience in public relations, social media and development. As Financial Planning Assistant, her primary responsibilities revolve around assisting clients with action steps towards their goals, communicating with clients on routine questions and preparing planning items for client meetings.
Sarah is a graduate of Midlands Technical College with a degree in business administration. She also earned her paraplanner designation in December 2020.
Sarah enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with family.
